A classic dress that I’m extremely afraid of because of all the skin it shows is the little slip dress. Yes, they are super versatile and can really work styled with a button down, blazer, or dress. But, all the skin makes me soooooo nervous! Sooooo, if you are lady who is still afraid of showing skin and need just an extra layer this post is for you. We are digging into the slip dress trend!
What Is The Slip Dress
Slip dresses are slinky spaghetti strap silky dresses. Although, they very much resemble the slip your mama told you to put under your dresses before church, these are actual dresses that are meant to be worn out in the general public.
Slip dresses are very feminine. Choose any color or print and have fun styling away. I styled two slip dresses for this blog post. First, was my green slip dress layered with the Palm Tree Print Shirt Dress by Beauticurve dress for Lane Bryant. Second, was my red slip dress layered with the Tunic top from Seerosego. Both, looks can translate to fall easily! So don’t put the slip dress trend away with the summer.
Overall, the best way to wear a slip dress is obviously any way you want too. It’s classic and sexy! Take it for a spin on date night, girls night out, or cocktail time. Add layers and it’s perfect for church! I’ll drop you more selections so you can choose the perfect slip dress for you.
This particular dress was added to my series of “layering dresses” this month because I’m trying to love the skin I’m in a little more and try daring pieces. Hope you are inspired to do the same!
