It’s Tuesday, so you know what that means-all across social media is shoe talk with the hashtag #shoesdaytuesday. Just to honor all of the love for shoes today, I thought it would be cool to share what shoes are in my fitness closet and why these shoes are my top picks for today.
I have come to grips with the fact that I may never be able to work out in the cute metallic or rose gold trainers that are all glitz, girly, and glam because the reality is I have big, wide, and flat feet. Yep, they are trendy and fashionable, however when the fad fades I’ll be sitting here with jacked up feet and a pair of trainers that are too painful to wear for 5 minutes.
The correct trainers are the single most important equipment in any kind of exercise program. Major key alert, A great shoe is the foundation of a great workout!
My week consists of many different workouts–zumba, running, and more.
I’ve been teaching Zumba for almost 5 years now. As I mentioned earlier, my feet are wide and flat. I have no arch, so the most comfortable shoes for me to dance in is the adidas and reebok freestyle. My favorite out of the two is the reebok freestyle. These shoes make dancing so much easier for me simply because they are lightweight (especially the reeboks) and breathable. The soles of both are flat allowing ease in sliding. From Reggaeton, Hip Hop, to Merengue you will be ready to set the floor on fire, but remember this is if you have a flat and large foot similar to mine.
Running is another workout that I do at least 3 times a week. I love running in Asics and Nike Free. I use the Asics for hiking and running outdoor trails. The Nike Free is only for my treadmill workouts. In all honesty, Nike Free is a narrow shoe. My feet are wide so in order to get the perfect fit I sized up.
When it comes to trainers I go with comfort… Remember the right shoes can prevent injuries. What are your favorite trainers and why?
