Black with a Pop.. featuring Eloquii Jumpsuit

There is one closet staple that will never fail you in the midst of an “I have nothing to wear crisis”. The Jumpsuit. Not only is the jumpsuit flattering on most body shapes, defining your waist and elongating your legs, but it’s a closet essential for lazy days.

I couldn’t wait to wear this ELOQUII faux wrap black jumpsuit with leather detail. “ELOQUII is a private company based in New York and Columbus, OH that designs and sells fashion apparel in sizes 14-24″. I purchased this jumpsuit a while back and it is completely sold out at this time but they have many black jumpsuits to choose from.

All black everything is ok too but a little boring so to add a pop of color I completed this look with a pair of mustard color blocked heels and minimal jewelry because I wanted the jumpsuit to do the talking.

There is absolutely not one reason to dislike a jumpsuit. Dress it up or down, comfy, classic, elegant, and so effortless.

Fall shoe trends for wide and large feet 2016

September is pushing up on us. The kids are back in school and fall is right around the corner.. Did I mention that September is my favorite month. Why? It’s my birthday and anniversary month! That’s not all either, it’s the beginning of fall and I live for booties, biker jackets, and boyfriend jeans..

So we all know the regular fall shoe trends that are here every fall, like over the knee boots, peep toe booties, and sneakers (converse, keds, and all them right). I’m here with the scoop on the newbies. I got the newer trends, and for my lovely ladies with wide or large feet. I have the news on where you can get these shoes for yourself.

  1. Block Heels
Block Heels

I’m so in love with this trend because being supermom and stiletto’s are not the perfect mix. Block heels give you a little more support and they are comfortable for a date night and stroll downtown.. These shoes are from Payless also available in black. Payless have wide shoes and sizes run from  5-13.

2. Mules

Mules are definitely something that you should be sliding into this fall. It's a love hate relationship with this shoe. In the 90's I hated mules, but check out these from Asos. They are popping and Asos sizes run from 4-11.

3. Buckles

Suede, olive, pointy toe, and buckles. This shoe screams fall. Yaaaaassssssss!! This shoe is from Nine West. Nine West sizes run from 5-12. This is my fave so far.

4. Crush Velvet

What is that velvet? Yes, it is. It's more than suede this fall. Whether it's flats, platforms, or boots. Everyone is crushing on velvet this fall. These are also from Asos.

Independence Day

Happy Independence Day which is really National BBQ Day, yassssssss to all of the wonderful Uncles, Granddaddys, Husbands, or Cousins who have been putting in major work on the grill in this July heat.

It’s truly a blessing to be an American. I can say that from the bottom of my heart. My recent mission trip allowed me to see the condition of another country that allowed me to be grateful concerning the USA. I know we are not where we need to be as a country but we have came a mighty long way.

Here is some 4th of July outfit inspiration. Nothing beats a beautiful day with some shoulder action! I ordered this dress from Shein. This dress is so cute and comfy, and the tassels hanging from the waist and center gives it a little edge. My red flats are from Payless. They have a gold accent hanging from the center. Just simple and so easy to switch up.

How was your 4th? I’m still having fun managing jet lag and catching up on soooooo many things…

Happy 4th,

Shirt Dress Style with Nicke Street Boutique

Seriously, who doesn’t want to look fashionable and stylish in one piece. No struggle!

One classic staple that every woman should have in her closet is a classic shirt dress. A great shirt dress is a wardrobe butterfly and can easily be transformed from casual office comfort to weekend slay. Maxi length shirt dresses are everywhere this spring and it’s one of the easiest styles to pull off. Long length, loose, sheer, and minimal effort in the switch from day to night. I picked up this shirt dress from the online boutique Nicke Street. Nicke Street is a classy and chic boutique with unique vintage pieces and accessories for the sophisticated lady.

Today, I’m showing you how I styled my shirt dress from a weekend stroll downtown to date night with my photographer (that’s hubby).

I felt at ease and super stylish by adding Sam & Libby silver metallic sandals from last year (similar shoes here) to give this dress life in a very casual type of way.

I added Cato’s nude shooties (similar shoes here) to give this shirt dress a little street style for Saturday night.

Other styling options for this shirt dress: mixing it up with a cross-body bag, belting it to showcase the curves a little, or even using it as a cover up on the beach with your favorite swim suit..

How would you style it? I would love to know in the comment section below..

#FitFridays Where Can I Find Cute Plus Size Workout Gear featuring Rainbeau Curves

If you don’t know by now I am a category 3 shopaholic and cute workout clothes is a must. Wearing something cute makes you feel great everywhere!! So don’t half step because your going to burn some calories. It’s no different. I want to look cute while I teach Zumba, go for a brisk walk, or if I decide to swing by the gym for some cardio. Some people strongly believe that plus size women never workout, but I have come today to shed the light on that cliché. Curvy Girls Workout Too and let’s set the record straight, Size does not equal healthy. I love all women but we must stop judging others and learn to appreciate all body types.

The plus size fashion industry has evolved quite a bit. I remember when all a plus size women could find to workout in was jogging pants and a t-shirt or the clothing for plus size women was very boring and basic. I’m thankful that this is not the case anymore. We can now let our confidence shine as we transform with fabulous selections from Rainbeau Curves, Lane Bryant, and Old Navy.

I decided to take some detailed pictures and give you a quick review on the plus size workout line Rainbeau Curves. Rainbeau Curves is an apparel company that offers plus size clothing and activewear for women made with high performance & fashion fabrics (via website). I was pretty shocked of how great this set fits me. The brand runs true to size and I think that going down a size in the leggings wouldn’t hurt at all. I ordered a 2x in the leggings because I was not familiar of how they would fit my size 18 frame, but they were big a bit and I could have sized down to a 1x. I’m overall happy! I will link the set i purchased below along with some of my faves from Lane Bryant and Old Navy.

This weekend I got a chance to let my hair down and take a few shots while the weather was nice. I’m wearing the absolutely fabulous Floral High-Slit Maxi Dress from Forever 21. This dress is beautiful and it is everything that I expected it to be. The price was perfect for such a big statement. My favorite features are the cap sleeves and high waist. I paired this maxi dress with my favorite booties and a denim shirt because it was a little windy. This spring floral maxis are bae. They are dainty and fancy. I love maxi dresses. I could give you 1000 reasons why but today I got 4 major reasons.

Vacation and Facts of Life

Life is a Beach

Spring Break is here and I am thoroughly enjoying this time. If you did not know I am an educator and I have 2 boys. Spring Break is the time that the entire family is off for vacation.

My fave place to unwind is the beach. I love the weather and the view is just amazing within itself. Creole food is definitely my favorite and I feel as if I’m in my natural habitat when I’m anywhere on The Gulf Coast (Mobile, New Orleans, Gulfport, or Biloxi).

The hubby captured a few shots of me on the beach in my aztec tunic from a couple of summers ago. A good tunic is a closet must-have. I picked it up at Southern Roots, a local boutique in Tupelo.  It’s one of my most comfortable pieces that i enjoy during the summer/spring. On cooler days I add skinnies and booties.

To add some interest to this look I accessorized with a headband, bangles, and oversized hoop earrings. I love mixing prints so I also added a leopard scarf.

All of my accessories are from last summer except my headband and earrings. The headband I picked up from It’s Fashion Metro. The earrings are from Forever 21.

So much fun in these pictures.. How are you enjoying Spring Break?
