Welcome back to the blog sweatheart! I have so busy recording my free dance classes with Joyn, that I have not had much time to post here! However, I am getting my life together. Blogging is something I really enjoy. And hopefully, I will have my little schedule together real soon.
My social media journey
I have been on social media for a long time now. And I am finally ready to share more about my blogging journey in hopes that it might inspire you! So many of you have reached out to me saying that you’d love to start a blog or YouTube or Instagram page as well. And I say go for it! Nobody is you and that is your power, so don’t worry about there being so many influencers these days! I get nervous about it as well, so you are definitely not alone.
There is a side hustle for everyone
I have so much more to learn. But I have definitely invested a lot of time and money into growing the Sweat In Mascara brand. And to be honest, I haven’t always received a return on my investment. But you know what, you’ve got to do it for the love! Because brands are really out here trying to pay you with exposure! That being said, it is truly amazing what you can do online. My husband and I both have side hustles. And God is enlarging our territory day by day. There is something out there for you sis! No matter your skill-set or your situation.
How to start or grow your own social media platform
Do you want to start a boutique selling plus-size fashion? Or write a blog about how you’ve been getting through tough times? But feel like you have no idea where to start or how to grow? You should grab my Social Media 101 e-book. This e-book is simple and practical and it takes you through a step-by-step process you can follow to make social media work for you! I have followed many of these steps myself and look where I am today! I have worked with brands like Lane Bryant, Fabletics, Athleta, Ryka, Avon, Eloquii and so many more. And most of all, I am clear about my purpose in this busy online world.
Remember, it gets hard sometimes. Sometimes the sales don’t come through, sometimes, no matter what you do, your Instagram engagement sucks. And it’s hard not to get despondent. These social media algorithms don’t care about us little guys at all. And that’s why it’s so important to have a way to communicate with your followers in a more direct way. Personally, email marketing works great for me. I get so many responses from my subscribers whenever I send an email. And it reminds me that there are people who genuinely want to hear from me! Plus, if anything happened to Facebook or Instagram tomorrow, I’d still be connected to the lovely women in my tribe.
Lastly, Wherever you are in your journey, now is as good a time as any to get started or continue working on your passion. I hope that you found this post helpful and that my Social Media 101 e-book helps you! Would you like me to do more posts like this? Let me know in the comments below.
