Growing up I always imagined myself with a woman who would travel the world with me, in matching windbreaker suits preferably.
Why!!! I can’t tell you it was just in my head from commercials.
But as my life and desires changed I realized that I needed a woman who could bring her goals, determination and grind to the table to add value to my life’s journey.
Jimmy Evans stated that “God designed husband’s and wives to complete each other not to compete with each other.”
While most men rule with an iron fist controlling every aspect of their wife’s life, I have come to the conclusion that controlling hinders the authenticity of any relationship.
Chasi is a jewel. She helps bring my life to a place of balance. I’m not an insecure husband, I want her to be a light and shine. It makes me look good!
My wife is passionate about erasing the limits and boundaries off of what it means to be a pastors wife. And many come with concerns and questions of her purpose and I’m here to tell you how I feel about it all.
As a pastor, I use to worry about her crossing the lines and the way others perceived her. Whether it was maybe showing a little too much skin or poses, I was uncomfortable with everyone eyes on my goodies.
I had to realize that her vision is so much bigger than the church and what others think.
Women outside the 4 walls of the church are needing inspiration, a different point of view, a new lens to see life in a way that will compel them to go for more, expect greater, and be what God has called them to be.
I’m amazed at how her passion has evolved into a movement to help women love themselves and love the way that God uniquely created them size, shape, weight, and color.
When people think of Pastor Wives they often think big hats, suits, and sitting quietly. My wife is an out the box individual and is in no way the normal description of what most traditional churches would want a pastor wife to be.
Her calling to be a rebel, non-conventional, progressive pastor’s wife with a unique vision is taking her around the country speaking, teaching, and sweating.
I think it’s so important that pastor’s wives be themselves no matter what.
I’m thankful that God has allowed me to be the husband that supports her vision and keep pushing her towards her dream.
Men never become a roadblock to the blessings that allows your family to soar!
