Curvy Con Look #1 | Modest and Chic

 

I’m still super pumped up and exhausted at the same time from fashion week, The Curvy Con, and my birthday but now it’s time to get back to my workouts, clean up my eating a bit, and finally share my looks from NYC. 

The days are gone when dressing modestly meant wearing many layers and skirts sweeping the ground. I have had my share of those days and I’m thrilled at how much fashion and my personal style has evolved! I’ve always felt that dressing modestly puts fashion into the hands of the person wearing the garment and the observer has no control, and being plus size doesn’t mean that you have to show all of your body to be fashionable. The truth of the matter is no matter how much we love our bodies, there may be areas that we prefer not to be seen and that is perfectly ok. I’m a wife, mom, role model, entrepreneur, and woman of God and I want to make sure that my appearance represents that. 

The nightwear-by-day trend is big and I love being comfortable and stylish. It’s a double win, lol!! The Lilly Slinky Duster + Tapered Trouser Co-ord from Boohoo was a fave of mine when I locked eyes on it. It’s soft and the coziest look in my wardrobe. I loved styling this set with a nude bodysuit from Forever 21, gold jewelry from sweet and chic accessories, and nude heels. 

 

I have a feeling that this look will be in heavy rotation this fall simply because it’s easy to style and by placing almost any neutral color top underneath the duster (nude, black, white, gray) it becomes not only comfy but super versatile.

Also, This look is giving me Netflix and sleep vibes and there is nothing like taking a break from adulting to get a little shut-eye! lol!
