I love Memphis so much. It’s the blues, bbq, museums, and let’s not forget MANE! The Memphians say Mane after everything, it’s a figure of speech. Mane this, Mane that, Ain’t it Mane! I was invited to attend the My City Four Ways, by Essence magazine in collaboration with Ford. It was a mix of local influencers, designers, creatives, and personalities sharing food, music, art, and style celebrating Bluff City.
This event was moderated by Senior Editor of Essence Magazine Charreah Jackson (pictured below) and the craziest, funniest, comedian co-host, Loni Love.
I enjoyed style tips from the beautiful June Ambrose. She has always been a major inspiration and one of the first stylists I fell in love with. She is such an inspiration to women of color in the creative industry. Also there were tasty dishes from grammy-nominated singer turned chef, Kelis and this lady is sooooo beautiful irl (in real life), and a soulful performance by Ro James.
The “Ride & Drive” experience in the latest lineup of Ford vehicles was top of the line, vehicles included the Ford Fusion, Mustang, Escape, and Explorer. I checked out the Ford Escape, it was fully loaded with titanium, sunroof, and leather interior. Perfect for a mom on the go such as myself.
The “Flounce Trim Space Dye Dress” was perfect for this event. It’s all about whose the freshest, right! This dress was courtesy of Shein’s new plus size line that was recently released, and so perfect for the cool weather in Memphis. I styled it with black tights and black knee boots, and I added a little fur purse to give it a little spunk. I received so many compliments. If you are a woman who despises short dresses don’t rule this one out yet, looks can be deceiving this dress looks super short, but it’s right at my knee.
