I started blogging about 2.5 years ago. Blogging has made my family a little uncomfortable at times. My boys compromise peaceful moments of solitude, for my very open blogger life. But no one has sacrificed more than my husband, giving me the courage and the money to start my blog.
Everyone thinks that free clothing and money for typing is the good life and it is if that’s your passion (which it is mine), BUT long before speaking engagements, endorsements, and all the perks was my husband of 10.5 years cheering me to spend his money to create content for maybe 3 readers.
He was and still is my biggest cheerleader. My biggest motivator! He was my first reader cheering me on after not getting one single view, he would sit and summarize my blogs with me over dinner to keep me encouraged.
I’m thankful for his participation in shoots with me. He is shedding his shell a bit. He’s a funny guy to be around, but cameras and spotlight are not his type of party. He even took a little public scrutiny for being ‘booed up’ with me in the yoga shoot. (Hahaha)
I’ll never forget that day. He was like “I’m not taking yoga pictures in front of these people at Fairpark”. I replied, “This is what we do as bloggers”. He smacked his lips and did it all for the vision of Sweat In Mascara.
He’s a team player, the boys could not have a better dad, and the fact that he is a father figure to so many in the community is a reason for any wife to feel amazing!
Happy Birthday, Babe, I know that your day will be as wonderful as you are! Thank you for all that you do for our family!
But how does a man hold up when his wife is splattered all over the internet! And how does a wife handle it when her husband is one of the most popular and only Pastor Barber in Tupelo.
We set boundaries. I’ve listed 3 of my favorite social media boundaries for marriages that I love and that we practice often! Some days are harder than others, but it’s a journey! You should try them!
My 3 Favorite Social Media Boundaries For Marriages
- Be Present. It’s easier to connect with someone in your DM’s over your spouse who may be having a hard day, but choose to stop scrolling down your timeline to be present and appreciate the person sitting in front of you. I do most of my blogging and scrolling when my family is asleep, so I’m not spending time with everyone online instead and leaving out my family.
- Leave phones in a different room while cuddling or spending time together. When phones are charging right next to the beds it’s easy to get pulled in. Set up a charging station in your office, kitchen, or living room. That way when it’s not a distraction during cuddle time.
- Cut the ringer off. Remember back in the day we were not so accessible. Sometimes we are too available. Take a break from the celly and go for a walk with bae. If someone calls it’s not the end of the world. You will get back with them.
Style Notes: Isn’t this dress divine. This is the Shein Cold Shoulder Layered Dress. It’s the best dress that you will ever buy, but size down because this one runs a bit big. The material is also a bit heavy so it’s perfect for one of the cooler days of summer and not the ones that are sweltering hot.
Remember to use the coupon code “SWEAT20” to get 20% off your purchase of $59 or more. Shein is one of my favorite brands. Nothing can top trendy and affordable garments.
Now it’s time to celebrate with my favorite person! We tied the knot when you were only 23 and now you are 37! Hahahahah, You getting old! Happy Birthday Husband!!
