While I am sure that you have read one thousand ways of how to get rid of loose skin after weight loss, this blog post will be different. It will be how to embrace your loose skin and get the courage to wear things that you would never try in a million years. I did and it empowered me! But first I need to be honest about something.
After losing over 100 lbs, I was a little self-conscious of how my tummy looked in a bodycon. It was hard for me to love the loose skin after weight loss. I didn’t ask for it. I kinda inherited it!
What was the problem? Skin happens after weight loss! It has never been a problem before. I’ve actually gotten used to the way it whips back and forth when I do my mountain climbers. Is it really something to be self-conscious about?
NOPE!! And that’s why I embraced it to full capacity in this pink bodycon for the last day of the TCF Style Expo.
Bodycons are for all body types: voluptuous bodies, small bodies, bodies with loose skin, hourglass, pear-apples, and everything in between.
I know that my body does not look like most bodies posted all over social media, but that does not make it wrong. It’s my body so I decided to embrace every inch of my skin. Instead of going with societies flow, I make the flow. Society has to learn how to appreciate bodies like mine. Representation matters!!
How can the world learn if we do not teach them? OH, You gonna learn today!!
It’s a counterintuitive love. Every woman with loose skin after weight loss wants a tummy tuck, liposuction, and more (and that’s ok), but just because it’s their choice does not mean it’s mine. Loving the parts of your body that are not perfect goes against what we would believe to be logical in this day and age, but it’s ok!
Wear what you want!
Can You Believe I Was On The Plus Size
Fitness Panel At The TCF Style Expo
I wore this look the last day of the TCF Style Expo. It was a lit feeling being one of the speakers this year. Fitness in the plus size community is a leary topic. Looked at as a way to escape your plus size body, a lot of the body positive community is not here “doing calisthenics”. It was time to address this! Everyone does not work out to lose lbs, but many work out as a form of self-care. It’s therapeutic. I got to speak with these incredible sweathearts, Chardine of Chardline.com, Tiffany of Beautiffullyme.com, Bianca of Curvaceouslybee.com, and Shay of Athickgirlscloset.com. It was truly epic and a milestone that I will never forget!
