Are you ready to pursue your dreams? Have you been waiting for the perfect time? Well, let me go ahead and tell you, there really is no perfect time to launch that big idea. You will never be ready! You will never have everything you need!
I was a marketing major at the University of Mississippi, a wife of 5 years, and the mom of a 4-year-old. I took a break from waiting tables at Red Lobster to dive into the small loan industry. During the employment shift, I started a blog on Tumblr. I wasn’t thinking about money, I was only trying to find myself. I was 26 and I had no idea of what I was created to do. No passion! This post is to encourage you to pursue your dreams with the tools you have right now.
I talked myself out of going public with my blog for years. In fear of what my family and friends would say, and because I was typing blogs from my phone like who would take me seriously. I’m a perfectionist, so I wanted everything to be perfect. No computer, no camera, no photographer, no fancy theme for my website, I had nothing! One of the biggest myths about pursuing your dreams is that you need everything right now.
I started everything with a phone and a dream. Here is my first patriotic look on Sweat In Mascara. Ok, Here it goes *covers eyes* (Inspired Yet)
When I look at this picture I see growth! My husband was my photographer. This shoot was with an iPhone 5 (or something very close). In the middle of the highway trying to make it happen.
I see growth. When you sike yourself out of starting you can’t see the progress. I laugh at my old photos, but I’m inspired to keep going. Because of this dream of being a fitness and style blogger, I have encountered some of the best friendships. I’ve traveled and did things that I can not wrap my mind around. And it was all because I started.
If there’s something you love, don’t ignore it. You may not be able to get everything you need right away, but find ways to make it work. Don’t focus on money in the beginning, focus on figuring out what you love.
You know I have outfit details for you! This dress is from Dress Barn. The sleeves have cute crochet details. I added red sock booties from Target and red tassel earrings from Lane Bryant.
Ready to pursue your dreams? I’m excited to see where you are going to be by this time next year!!

Great post! I definitely agree that you need to focus on your passions and not about money. I personally realize that I love doing my blog most when I just focus on the content and righting about what I truly care about.
Also, love the red accents!
