Throwing SHADES/ Monochromatic Dressing

If you are one of those thinking, “What is Monochrome”??? It may be hard to say and spell, but it is one of the easiest trends to style. Monochromatic dressing involves wearing one color, or multiple shades of a certain color from head-to-toe. All black everything and denim on denim are some examples of monochromatic dressing.

Choosing the right color is key when you are rocking a monochrome look. Sometimes it’s impossible to find clothing that is the exact same shade and this is a good thing with this trend, wearing the exact same color from top to bottom can appear to be forced and uniformy (that is not a word, but you get what I’m saying).

I decided to play around with different hues. I love the way any shade of red compliments my body so I decided to start with these red/wine jeggings from Lane Bryant (the red wine color that I have on are sold out, but other colors are available). I used this red/wine color from the jeggings to build my look. I paired them with a burgundy/maroon light sweater/tunic (old) and wine/suede heels, giving more depth and dimension to my monochrome look. I accented my look with gold jewelry, and a Tommy Hilfiger wristlet (similar here).

I choose to wear monochromatic outfits because they are easy to style, and also it gives me a slick and polished shape— monochromatic outfits make you appear much longer and taller than you actually are. I love my shape and size, but i also love to look amazing in my clothes.
