Last month, I ministered at church about trusting God in the midst of trouble. It’s easy to trust God when everything is good.
However, when storms arise it’s a little harder to trust God’s Word. This was a message that resonated with me and I wanted to share. Keep reading if you need encouragement on how to trust God in times of trouble.
[Tweet "Trusting God In Times Of Trouble"]
Let’s be honest, some storms we encounter because of bad decisions. We have a measure of control over our actions and the consequences that follow bad decisions are our fault. Can we agree to that?
In other circumstances, troubles are a part of following God. On two occasions in the New Testament, the disciples found themselves in a storm on a boat. They thought they were going to die both times. They were in the storm not because of bad decisions, but this time it was because they were doing everything right.
The disciples were following Jesus and obeying God’s direction for their life, and it led them right into a storm. As human’s we love to avoid the storm. God’s nature is to lead us to the storm because transformation is there. Painful experiences are opportunities for further growth. The disciples discovered new truths about Jesus in the storm.
Is something rocking your boat? Are you frustrated? Do you feel alone?
Your storms are not an accident, but masterfully designed to drive you closer to divine purpose.
The Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
Nahum 1:3
This scripture in Nahum states that the Lord is in the whirlwind and in the storm. He is there in the most uncomfortable and dark place equipping you adequately for His purpose ahead.
God can not fail therefore we must trust him enough to let him succeed (because he CAN NOT fail) but in his timing, in his way, without an argument.
We think when we are in trouble God is absent, but remember He is in the whirlwind!!
Is something rocking your boat today?
Trusting God will not take your troubles away, but it will give you a new perspective and a new way to look at your trouble.
Style Notes: I’m wearing the Two-Button Printed Jacket from Eloquii with the matching silk joggers. The fabric is so sleek and bougie. I found these hunter green, suede, shell-toe Adidas at TJ Maxx for a steal!
