October is Pastor’s Appreciation Month or as some would call it Clergy Appreciation Month, and this forced me to be more vulnerable about an assignment that’s not shared enough on my blog. Keep reading to learn for more ways to pray for your pastor’s wife.
I’m a pastor’s wife! And though, I do not have enough open dialogue about this assignment that I never asked to be in, I’m a completely different person because of it. I have grown to love it and wouldn’t change anything about it!
[Tweet "3 Ways To Pray For Your Pastor's Wife + Style Notes"]
Today my desire is to offer something to everyone who may know a pastor’s wife….. and that’s how to pray for her!
Pastor’s wives can be private. If you have ever wondered how to pray for your pastor’s wife, here are three top needs:
Pray For Her Health
Stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness are some of the things that come along with life, PeriodT!! However, ministry is not stress-free. It’s more to it than tiptoeing through the tulips.
Pray for your pastor’s wife’s health because some days sleep is a foreign language. It’s very likely that she quietly struggles with being under a microscope.
While you are in prayer mention your pastor’s wife’s health because she is a woman of many hats. The daily responsibility of being a mom, while juggling work, school, ministry, and nutrition can leave her head swimming!
Also, pray that she gets better at what it is the Lord has called her to do! Support her endeavors.
Pray For Her Joy
As a pastor’s wife sometime’s you are last on the priority list. Remember that a pastor’s wife shares her home and heart with a congregation of people. It’s easy to feel invisible, unseen and forgotten.
Pray for your pastor’s wife joy because her life gets rough, there are critics, and she needs to be reminded that she can conquer all things, too. Pray that she will not become discouraged. Pray that she overcomes her emotional baggage. Pray that the joy of the Lord will be her strength.
Pray For Her Family
Speaking from experience, as a pastor’s wife sometimes the pressures are real.
Simply put: You are too hard on your kids? Or not hard enough on your kids? Do you have a Pinterest worthy kitchen? Are you constantly cleaning?
Instead of being the first to point the finger, pray that she would grow in discernment and that God will build a hedge of protection around her marriage. The demands of ministry can be tough on a marriage; pray for your pastor and his wife. Have grace concerning them. They are not perfect!
Pray that their family time will be protected!
Please understand that your pastor’s wife needs your prayers even when she does not personally ask for them.
And to the pastor’s wife that’s reading this right now, I want to close this with a quote just for you from Proverbs 11:25,
A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
