As women, we are always spending time pouring into the lives of others. Life is a cycle. It can be an emotional rollercoaster, but it’s crucial we hop off and find time for our Creator.
Today on the blog, we are getting into the spiritual life of a busy woman. This goes for all women: young, old, and mothers. If you are in need of a little guidance on practical ways to finding time for God when you are a busy woman keep reading..
Finding time with God can be challenging. In our hearts, we desire to spend more time meditating and reading His Word. However it is a journey, and it does not magically happen. It takes discipline and effort. I think you’ll agree with me when I say that parenting children, taking care of our marriages, and homes (not to mention jobs, homework, etc.) can fill up our day. It’s a grind.
Finding Time For God When You Are A Busy Woman
It all boils down to this, there are practical ways to find time with God no matter how busy you are. It’s time to ditch the rules of what religion has taught us about prayer and meditation. We are going after relationship. It’s all about quality over quantity.
Try Small Chunks
Spending quality time with God may not always look like what you imagined it should. Even small chunks of time with the Lord is just as powerful as hours with him. Time does not equal effectiveness. Here is a quick tip, start off with 20 minutes in the morning or 20 minutes while doing your daily walk. There are so many ways to speak to God when you are on the go. Don’t overthink it!
Podcast Are Life
Listening to a podcast while driving to work is another way to find time for God when you are a busy woman. My commute is usually an hour everyday, 30 minutes to and from. It’s the perfect way to turn your car into an altar.
Digital Journaling
Lastly, journaling your thoughts throughout the day in a notebook or on your phone is perfect for women on the go. Start in the morning or whenever you have moments to spare. There is no right or wrong way to do this. It’s all about what works for you.
Now I want to hear from you. Please drop in the comments how you find time for God in this particular season in your life. I know it will encourage someone who might be struggling in this area. It’s all about community and support!
