Like a good girl, I went to church on Sunday and while trying to concentrate on the Word, I couldn’t help but notice how miserable I was in my long skirt and plain Jane look.
I was always taught that I should look my best because I represent the King. That’s always stuck with me! I know it’s not about satisfying the masses, which I was definitely not concerned with. I felt half-dressed as if I was not appropriate for the service. Before Y’all start sizing me up, I know that matching my clutch and heels will not get me into Heaven any quicker than showing up to Sunday School in my headwrap, but when I look my best I feel my best.
Modern women of faith can look effortlessly chic and slay too! I’m not crazy but the idea of uniforms at church is a bunch of foolery. I think that personality plays a huge part in how a woman dresses and if we all have different personalities no one should show up looking the same.
I’ve recently fallen in love with anything off the shoulder. Some saints believe that shoulders are a part of the seductive cleavage that must remain covered, but today I’m sharing with you a couple of my faves that are breaking “Pastor’s Wife” dress codes, challenging norms, and proving that a woman of faith can be classy, chic, and modern.
I love how these women work the cold shoulder/off the shoulder trend so gracefully and we are not gonna talk about how Sarah Jakes Roberts is goals right now. I love her!
If you’re following me on Instagram you know that I’m currently in Valvuniya, Sri Lanka on a mission trip. I know what you are thinking, “AND YOU ARE IN FRONT OF A COMPUTER”.!!! *side eye*
It’s hot and humid. Today’s temperature hit a blazing 93 degrees and nothing could pick me up in this sweltering heat except this Pick-Up Sleeve Bardot Dress from the Who What Wear at Target.
This dress immediately grasped my attention. It is adorable! The tiered ruffle sleeves, waist tie, and the print is what sold me. The sleeves are well-defined and the perfect balance for the off the shoulder neckline. The sleeves add so much volume to this look, Yaaaaass. It’s black but even on this muggy tropical island, it was breezy and cool. I promise to show you more pictures of this beauty. Make sure you are connected with me on social media. I added comfy white slip-on loafer mules to add a spring pop to my look. This entire look is from Target!
I have more inspiration for you all! I collaborated with some fashionable friends! Feeling brave click on the link and show some shoulders this spring.
