I’ve become a low carb traveler over the last few weeks. When you are at home things are so much easier, but try living in a hotel and changing times zones. Patterns are disrupted and staying the course can be daunting.
Eating out while on the low-carb way can be the toughest part, especially when out with friends. It may be tough, but remember you are the only one who can sabotage your lifestyle.
I ate low-carb at The Cheesecake Factory! I know right it sounds contradictory, but low-carb items are actually on the menu. Keep reading to find out all about it.
The Cheesecake Factory may be considered as one of the most sinful places to eat for a low-carb lover, but I’m here to drop the good news. I was saved by grace when I spied the low-carb cheesecake and low-carb strawberry cheesecake on the menu. I was in low-carb heaven!
But, before we get into the cake I want to tell you all about what I ate for my entree. It was nice to place an order without being complicated with substitutes. I’m usually that person that’s like, “No rice, no beans, heavy cheese, extra guacamole, add sour cream”. I know what waiters think of these kinda folks! I waited tables for years, so I leave a nice tip to smooth it over.
I ordered the Parmesan-Herb Crusted Chicken served with double broccoli. It was delicious and I had leftovers.
The low-carb cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory is sweetened with Splenda and the crust is nut-based. With only, 6 net carbs this cheesecake was the perfect replica and I could not taste the difference. The waitress mentioned, that many customers prefer the low-carb cheesecake over the house favorite because of the sweetener.
I took her word for it and ate my low-carb cheesecake at the hotel in my pajamas.
