This past Saturday, I had the honor of being invited to speak at the annual Mother’s Day tea at Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church in Baldwyn, MS. This day was filled with inspiring music, fashion, gifts, amazing food, and tributes dedicated to the nurturing and loving, guiding and pushing women who has taken on the task of motherhood.
First let me give a round of applause to the chef, whomever this person was you did a fantastic job on the menu. We had smoked tenders, bacon-wrapped green beans, fruit salad with mango, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, and grapes. The homemade parfaits were ahhhhhmazing and we also had cookies and cupcakes for dessert.
The theme was “Sparkle and Reflect the Light”, and I delivered a talk called: Unleashing your Sparkle: a close look at self-worth. In order to sparkle, we must feel good about ourselves. How can we reflect the light of God if we hate our reflection in the mirror?
Take a second and think about it?
You should never feel worthless, ugly, or broken down from life’s problems! You are rare because God made only one of you and that means that you are unique, hand-crafted, and you are unlike anyone who has ever walked the face of the Earth. God made you because he wants someone exactly like you. Yes! Your weight, height, hair color, hair texture, eye color, and body type! He needs YOU!!
Let’s talk about what I wore. I’m telling you Eloquii gets it right every time. I can not profess my love for this brand enough. The struggle for plus size dresses was real at one point in time, but now because of brands like Eloquii plus size beauties can slay in dresses of every color. I rocked the Studio Tiered Ruffle Dress from Eloquii in the color chili. This dress is so dainty and super girly. The swiss dots and tiered skirt creates a feminine look without being over the top.
Remember that you are beautiful, and you should feel truly free and joyful inside your body and the skin that you are in. Unleash your sparkle!! We should celebrate our bodies because they are miracles that nurtured little humans as they grew inside our bellies. No longer downing our stretch marks but loving our sacred vessels we are gifted with. We are miracles.
XOXO,
Chasi
