Audrea Self, WCBI News Anchor, and emcee of the luncheon graced the stage with one question. She said, Who run the world? And the audience screamed enthusiastically, GIRLS! There was no better way to kick off the very first Mud & Magnolia Influential Women luncheon. The room was full of GIRL BOSSES in Northeast Mississippi.
I was so pleased, humbled, and honored to be in the room with amazing women of different backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life. To make it to the final round as one of the finalists and to be acknowledged as the finalist with the most nominations was a surreal experience and I can’t really find the words to explain the feeling. To be recognized for creating inspiration through words and dance to uplift or change someone’s mind and perspective about their body type, size, or self-esteem is motivation, and motivation is power, the power to continue to create this space for plus size women in fitness.
I had the pleasure to meet many powerful women and I was surrounded by many powerful women.
Of course, I can not conclude this post without giving outfit deets, right. I wore the Asos Curve one shoulder ruffle sundress in the bright tropical print. This print is perfect for summer: bright, flowy, and ruffles. I paired this dress with strappy nude sandals from Lane Bryant. My earrings are my favorite turquoise earrings from Courtney Lambert and of course my Fitbit Charge HR 2. My cousin always says that no matter if I’m dressed up or down I will always have my Fitbit own, lol.
None of this would have happened without my hubby and these 2 boys. They are my life, my number one supporters, and the sweetest cheerleaders any woman could have.
Thanks so much to Mud & Magnolia for this event. It was inspiring, the food was great, and the venue was beautiful.
